My crv is getting an airbag recall part swap tomorrow.

Is it a Corolla S?
My uncle has the same exact one in grey but it’s a 2008 model. The recalls say like 2002-2007 or something. He doesn’t know if he should check it.

Yup. Type S. 2006.

Yeah not really. Don’t get me wrong it’s been a good car but there is no sport associated with this car.

I’ve had good luck with Toyotas. This will run forever but I don’t want to be there for it.

just went to toyayota.com and put my vin. my wife's 2005 Corolla is getting recalled also. Glad you posted this, thanks.:-)

No worries. Good luck.

Yeah, Toyotas are awesome. It’s just too bad about that odo issue though, and even over 10 years later there’s still no fix!

sorry, I had to :p

It’s a Corolla, nothing wrong with that. My lawyering has made me aware that car manufacturers outsource steering racks, various pumps, wheel bearings, and all and sundry other pieces. A recall isn’t necessarily the manufacturer’s fault, as we saw with the recent airbag recall. It’s a mess.

I’m not sand bagging Toyota. This car has been good to us and I’ve had 4 Toyota trucks / suva in the past and they are generally bullet proof. Just don't want to deal with this.

Had an ‘87 4x4 longbed, an ‘88 Camry Wagon 5M - both bulletproof save a transmission issue with the Camry, and Toyota eventually agreed to help with the rebuild, just slightly out of warranty. Apparently that trans was known for lunching second gear. We got it sorted.

Larger picture is this Corrolla is going to get real small when our first gets here (5 weeks) and we’re hoping on a good trade in value.

They are not keeping it, so I guess I can wait. Must not be long. We’ll see.

Getting something more kid-friendly?

Yes looking at CX5 currently.

You might be OK keeping the Corolla - I’ve seen a car seat in the back of one before.

It’s doable but we like to go camping and skiing so we’re using the kid as an opportunity to move up to something with more space.

Fair enough. And the Toyota Highlander should be in the mix - my favorite NYC taxi. Room, comfortable seats, very nice ride. There’s even a hybrid. Drive one - let me know what you think. I’m alone here - DO NOT HAVE A CAR! Please - let me live vicariously through you.
